Cave Run Backpacking

Our May campout will be a backpacking trip to the Cave Run area of the Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky the weekend of May 16 -- 18. This is a mandatory shakedown for our Michigan group, and all Scouts 2nd year or higher are eligible to go. A permission slip is enclosed.

Update Included

An update of your status for Camp Friedlander, Seabase and Pictured Rocks is enclosed. Please check it carefully, and please let Mr. Hertlein (661.0752) know if you think there are any mistakes. A note of Camp Friedlander Medical Forms: The doctor's signature for all boys and for adults under age 40 is good for three years -- please see Mr. Hertlein to check on availability of medical forms from prior years.

Mountain Man Rendezvous

The weekend of June 13 -- 15 we hope to join a number of other Troops and Packs from our area for the annual Mountain Man Rendezvous at the Southern Ohio Dog & Game Protective Association. WE DO NEED ADULTS for this outing since a number of our older Scouts, and five adult leaders, will be on their way to Michigan for that weekend. More information is available on www.troop850.org and a permission slip is enclosed.

Spaghetti Dinner

Chas and Kathy Hertlein wish to thank all those who enthusiastically worked at this year's Spaghetti Dinner. We had our second highest profits ever and received many compliments on the seating and serving changes that were made. Special thanks go to Dan Rottmueller and Don Wissemeier for running the kitchen for the 4th consecutive year and to Mona Martin and Connie Peace for taking charge of the donations and raffle. Mona will be taking the Spaghetti Dinner chairmanship beginning next year. The boys did a great job in whatever capacity they worked. Thanks one and all!!
