Boards or Review and

Court of Honor

Our Spring Court of Honor is scheduled for April 8. This is an opportunity for parents and other family members to help us recognize all the achievements of our Scouts over the past few months. Please plan to attend!! In anticipation of the Court of Honor, Boards of Review for rank advancements are planned for April 1st. If you are asked to sit on a Board of Review, we would really appreciate your participation!! And encourage your Scouts who are close to a rank advancement get their requirements finished in time for the Board of Review!!

Scouting for Food and     Clothing

On Sunday, April 6, Troop 850 will join Boy Scout Troops from all over Greater Cincinnati in collecting donated clothing and canned goods. We hope all Scouts can help out. This is also a good opportunity for rank advancement and/or school service hours.

.April Campout

Troop 850 will be attending the annual Whitewater District Spring Camporee the weekend of April 25 -- 27. Troops from all over our area will be there, too, and this will be the very first campout our newest Scouts will have the opportunity to attend. A permission slip is enclosed.

Webelos Crossover

Our March 25 meeting will be a joint meeting with Pack 850 when we will invite all Webelos Scouts who wish to move up to Boy Scout to "crossover" -- we would like all of our Scouts to make every effort to attend. The week before, on March 18, we will be hosting an orientation program for Webelos families.

Summer Activities

A status report is enclosed which shows what summer activities (Seabase, Pictured Rocks, or Camp Friedlander) each Scout or adult is signed up for, payment status and personal account status. Please check these carefully for accuracy. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Hertlein.

Spaghetti Dinner

Thanks to everyone who has turned in their "yellow sheets" indicating where they would like to work as well as what they will be bringing for desserts. Attached is a list of our chairpeople. Chairmenships were given on a first-requested, first-served basis. If you signed up to be a chairperson and you are not listed, you have been assigned to work at that booth. IF YOU HAVE NOT YET TURNED IN YOUR YELLOW SIGN-UP SHEET, PLEASE RETURN IT NO LATER THAN THE MARCH 11 SCOUT MEETING. Those who do not turn in their sign-up sheet will be assigned a working time at a location that most needs assistance. Please do not call a committee chairperson to sign up to work their booth. They are not responsible for signing up workers.

At the March 18 meeting each Scout will be receiving his packet of pre-sale tickets. Like last year, each Scout will receive $4 toward his personal account for each pre-sale ticket sold, regardless of whether it is an adult or senior/child ticket. Please read the information and turn-in sheets that will be inside the packets for sales information and turn-in instructions.

Also, the Publicity Committee is in need of assistance with the distribution of flyers on April 5th. This would be a great service opportunity for the Scouts. PLEASE CALL CONNIE RUHE (598.5836) TO HELP WITH DISTRIBUTION ON APRIL 5th.

Camp Friedlander Update

A big part of summer camp is the opportunity to earn merit badges, many of which are tough to earn any other time. In order to get into the desired classes, we submit requests well in advance of our July camp week. A complete listing of all available merit badges and other activities, sorted both alphabetically and by time of day offered, is now available under the "Friedlander" tab on www.troop850.org. Scouts should use this opportunity to plan ahead for Camp Friedlander.
